Channel Photomultiplier

The CPM is an extremely sensitive optical detector, since it converts very low light levels into photoelectrons. Typical applications of the CPM are photon detection, fluorescence, bioluminescence and high-energy physics. These photoelectrons create an avalanche effect inside the CPM with a gain exceeding 10e8. The CPM also has a very high dynamic range, extremely low noise and fast response.
