HIGH-VELOCITY AND PRECISION WITH MAGNETIC DIRECT DRIVE
The V-551 smooth-running precision linear stage can achieve high velocities, acceleration and precision. With its crossed roller bearing guides it’s also particularly suitable for scanning applications needing constant velocity. Additionally, with a high load capacity and high precision it’s suitable for all types of operating conditions and it the anti-creep system helps prevent cage creep.
Position measuring is done at the motion platform with results in the highest accuracy. This means nonlinearity, mechanical play or elastic deformation will not have any influence on position measuring. With the PIOne encoder (developed by our supplier Physik Instrumente) corresponding processing of the measured values allows a position resolution of much less than one nanometer. The optical and noncontact encoders are based on an interferometric measuring principle and as a result of the high signal quality and short transmission period the linearity error is less than 1 %. Direction sensing when evaluating a reference signal is also supported. Absolute encoders supply explicit position information that enables immediate determination of the position. This means that during boot-up referencing is not required which increases efficiency and safety during operation. Note that a separate connection cable is required for motor and sensor connection respectively.
